A special day living as The Korean Wave Star!

It just pumps the heart hearing the names like EXO, Girl’s Generation, SHINEE, Super Junior, or Red Velvet. It is in Seoul, where you can maximize that heartbeat. It is SMTOWN@coexartium at Samsung Station of subway line number 2! (SM Town Coexartium / www.smtownland.com)!

Everything exists at SUM

There is a building in front of you when you walk out from exit 5 and 6 of Samsung Sation, subway line number 2. A building with black wall and twinkling patterns, it’s ‘SM Town Coexartium’. After the opening in February 2015 which wasn’t long ago, a number of people from all around world has visited and it has become an essential place for tour for tourists. If you’re a K-pop fan, you M.U.S.T. visit here.The entrance of SM Town Coexartium with the media wall as if stars falling greeting you. (As it is opened in 11 am, you can’t feel the stars falling when you go in the morning.) First take the escalator that leads you to the 2nd floor. That’s the start of the SM Town Coexartium. There is ‘SUM’, a celebrity shop. There is everything the artist goods of limited edition, the item that the artist actually used, the ‘it item’ that artist has chosen, and special items made by the artists and the designers of brands of global senses.

You can be a K-pop star!

After looking around ‘SUM’, there is 'SMTOWN STUDIO' on the 3rd floor. It is a special place where you can record like EXO, get makeup like Girl’s Generation, and dance like Red Velvet as if you’re one of the SM artists. In other words, here you are the SM artist!

The SMTOWN STUDIO at 3rd floor is a place where you can have a special experience to become a K-pop star. You need to reserve at least 2 weeks ahead of time! For reservation and inquiries, send e-mail to studio@smtown.com or call 02-6002-5820.

There is hair and makeup studio, music video studio, photo studio, recording studio, dance training room, and vocal training room at SMTOWN STUDIO. The actual makeup and hair stylists who are in charge of K-pop artists do the makeup and hair for you. It will be a styling just like the K-pop stars. Some ask if there are male customers who get the hair and makeup styling, but don’t worry because they say there are quite a number of make customers!
Also at the SMTOWN STUDIO you can get one point lesson from the actual SM vocal trainers. Not only singing, you can also learn dancing. The intensive dance training from the SM trainers will make you become an idol with outstanding dance no matter how bad you are in rhythm or dancing.

You can choose from individual package to the total package at SMTOWN STUDIO. The experience takes at least one or two hours and you can choose according to your trip schedule. As this is a place that SM artists actually use, you might meet up with the artist if you’re lucky. Program information

Everybody must have thought that they want to learn dancing at the training room where my favorite K-pop star actually practices. This became true. Any foreigner who is a big fan of K-pop and has great passion to learn dancing can have this chance. Even for free!
There is K-pop experiencing program launched with Seoul from August 17th. There are special memories going on every Mondays and Tuesdays at here, SMTOWN STUDIO to let the foreigners who visit Seoul experience Korean culture. The participants can learn different K-pop dances such as ‘CALL ME BABY’ of EXO, ‘Party’ of Girl’s Generation, or ‘Ice Cream Cake’ of Red Velvet. The actual dance trainer of SM will teach you the dance of artists of SM Entertainment. It is not easy to follow the real K-pop dance but you can hear laughing all the time during the class. Thanks to the detailed coaching by the professional trainer, most participants are showing an improvement in dancing skills more than what they expected.
Not only dance training, you can visit the different places where the artists actually use and take photos through SMTOWN STUDIO TOUR.

Eat and watch

After experiencing becoming an artist, take the escalator to the 4th floor. There is SMTOWN LIVErary CAFE. It’s time for you to have time to rest to your body and soul. A huge statue of TVXQ made by Michael Lau greets you. At the desert bar, there is a bunch of macarons and cookies made of the shape of my favorite stars. Let’s first eat. Looking around the café after eating, it is full of information where you can find out the history of SM Entertainment. Also on the table and the chair I’m sitting at, there are autographs of the artists. (Where is the autograph of my favorite artist?)

Now it’s the last 5th floor. (There is 6th, but 5th and 6th are both movie theaters.) It is a theater where you can enjoy different contents such as hologram musical, concert, and live concerts. It has a lot of different themes so don’t forget to check which programs they have before visiting. On the hall in the 5th floor there is a huge 15M wide Panavision that holds your eyes but don’t miss other little fun stuffs around. You can meet the star that suits you (hand printing) and you can also take fun sticker photos (photo box). You can also make the figures of the artists that you like with 3D printing.

SM Town Coexartium is not just about watching and listening, it is a fun place that satisfies all your 5 senses. It will be more fun if you check the information through the website before you just visit.
